DINING @ THE ROSE
Regional American Cuisine with a Heavy Latin Influence & Western Flair
Dining at The Buffalo Rose is more than a delightful culinary experience, it is also a trip back in time to the American West just as it was in the late 19th century. A visit to Golden simply isn’t complete without a stop in at The Pulse of Golden Since 1859.
Our beautiful collection of new and recently renovated historic buildings are located in the very heart of downtown Golden, directly beneath the “Howdy Folks – Welcome to Golden” sign, so we’re really easy to find.
Come on in, grab bite, and feel the pulse of Golden, Colorado.
A Stunning Renovation
The iconic Buffalo Rose, the Pulse of Golden Since 1859, reopened Memorial Day Weekend 2019 after almost 18 months of intensive renovations. “The revitalization of The Buffalo Rose was quite the effort,” commented Chris Cone, owner of The Rose. “I’m really proud of the work that everyone did on the project and I’m delighted that the historical buildings have been restored as closely as possible to their original designs. They really are a beautiful collection of historical buildings and they deserved to be revitalized.”
Extraordinary efforts were made to retain the numerous historical elements of the buildings. From the exposure of the incredible nogged brick wall in the entry lounge, the reuse of the old growth pine that dates back to the 1800s, to the detailed wood and brick craftsmanship on the facades, every possible detail was considered to honor the original structures.
But it’s not all old. Integrated into the historic buildings are a brand new commercial kitchen, with the latest in culinary equipment, and a remarkable bar featuring a retractable glass roof that opens and closes with the push of a button. It is truly a spectacular blend of old and new architecture.
