The Rose Event Venue

The Rose is a NEW event venue that opened January 2019. Embodying the classic architecture of the great Western American theaters of the early 20th century, the main venue features soaring ceilings, bold steel trusses, elegant lighting and original brick walls. It provides a sophisticated atmosphere for you to make memories that will last a lifetime.

We are an all-inclusive venue that comes equipped with professional event coordination, tables, chairs, linens, china, flatware, glassware, decorative lighting, and table decor. We also provide full in-house catering, beverage service, and staffing and will connect you with the very best local vendors. The Rose also has a concert-quality sound system, up to 4 large-screen televisions, a theater-quality video projection system, and an elevated stage enabling comprehensive entertainment options.

Main Venue

Experience the perfect venue for your event combining authentic Western American history with the convenience of a major metropolitan location.

The Rose is an iconic downtown Golden property. Rental of The Rose Main Venue includes the main venue and lobby and the 2nd-floor mezzanine, Bridal Suite, and Groom's Lounge. The entire event venue can accommodate up to as many as 300 guests for plated meal-type events. For events with MORE than 150 guests, we encourage you to add on the State Room lounge as this provides your guests with more room to spread out for Cocktail Hour and increases the number of bartenders on staff from 2-4.

The Lobby

This attractive two-story masonry building was fully restored to its bygone-era art deco glamour during the recent facility renovation.

Visitors enter the building under the classic grand marquee and enter a space with soaring ceilings, bold steel trusses, elegant lighting and original brick walls define the new venue and Lobby space. In addition, The Lobby has a fully stocked bar, classic parlor games, and two big-screen televisions. This space is quite unique as it allows for a lounge, a bar, and dining space for tables to be set up and is ideal for moderate social dining functions (60 ppl).

State Room

1000 square feet of steampunk elegance

The State Room, located on the mezzanine level of The Rose event venue has a private bar, private bathrooms, an elegant fireplace, and two large TV screens. Guests can access the State Room through a dedicated entrance on Washington Ave. or through the main venue space. The room is set-up with lounge and bar seating (50 ppl) and works well for cocktail-style/heavy hors d'oeuvres style events.

Buffalo Room

The Buffalo Room is the site of the oldest bar in Colorado.

The recent remodel fully restored the classic masonry façade, re-exposed and highlighted the original interior brick walls, and revealed many distinct architectural elements that have characterized this wonderful building since the early 20th century. The Buffalo Room is a semi-private dining room in our restaurant and is available for private dining. It is ideal for larger social dining functions (80 ppl). You can also add on the attached patio for an additional fee (20 ppl).

Barbershop

A true piece of history in Golden. Originally called the “Iler Block," this space now serves as the entry area for the Buffalo Rose restaurant.

This classic old west structure was built in 1871 and was completely restored as part of the recent remodel project. The Barbershop features one of the only exposed brick nogged walls still standing, an original vaulted ceiling, handsome interior wood siding preserved from the Civil War era, and cozy lounge seating arrayed thoughtfully around a stone fireplace. The room opens conveniently out on to a patio along 12th Ave. The room works well for cocktail-style/heavy hors d'oeuvres-style events.

The Back Patio

Energetic outdoor patio space.

Book The Back Patio and you and your friends will enjoy a cocktail party with live patio music (if available) in a comfortable outdoor setting. The area has two fire pits and the Back Deck portion is under a roof to shelter your party from the crazy Colorado elements. The open-air Back Patio is set-up with high-top tables, umbrellas, and patio-style lounge seating and works well for cocktail-style/heavy hors d'oeuvres style events for 60 or plated or buffet-style receptions for 50.

The Back Deck

Eat, drink, and celebrate @ The Rose!

The Back Deck has two fire pits and is under a roof to shelter your party from the crazy Colorado elements and is set-up with high-top tables and rail seating and works well for either cocktail-style/heavy hors d'oeuvres style events (20-25 guests) or plated meal receptions (up to 30 guests). This one of a kind space is ideal for smaller receptions. Add on the attached open-air Back Patio, set-up with high-top tables, umbrellas, and patio-style lounge seating, for an additional fee (25 ppl).

What is your peak season?

Do you have on-site parking?

No. However we are located 1-block from 2 different parking structures and 1/2 block from a large parking lot.

Can we bring our own alcohol?

As a Colorado Food and Liquor licensee, all food and beverages must be provided by The Rose and consumed on-site, with the exception of specialty cakes from an approved vendor.

Do you have accessible facilities?

Yes, the main floor to our event center and restaurant are wheelchair accessible.

What's included in your starting rental fee?

Our venue comes equipped with a professional event coordinator, staffing, tables, chairs, linens, china, flatware, glassware, decorative lighting, and table decor.

How many hours are included in our booking?

Your reservation includes up to 10-hours from start to finish, including 2-hours for set up and 1-hour for clean up. Any additional time will be billed at $50 per 30-minutes for set-up time and $100 per 30-minutes for any contracted time past midnight.

Do we need to get insurance?

No, our venue is fully insured.

How do we get to your venue from the nearest airport?

Our venue is located in downtown Golden, Colorado. You can reach our venue by public transportation via public transportation or by private car or taxi.

What is your cancellation policy?

1. More than 120-days prior to Event Date - 100% of Deposit + 25% of any other payments. 2. Less than 120-days prior and more than 90-days prior to Event Date - 100% of Deposit + 50% of any other payments. 3. Less than 90 and more than 10-days prior to Event Date - 100% of Deposit + 75% of any other payments. 4. Less than 10-days prior to Event Date - 100% of Deposit + 100% of any other payments.

Huge 5 stars to the team at the rose. Patricia was fantastic from start to finish. We had only one big error with our wedding party announcement, which I think was just communication from the DJ to Patricia. Minus that it was a flawless, perfect wedding. Loved having a buffet and highly recommend to anyone doing a wedding here. The bar staff was amazing!

I would give 10 Stars if that was an option! Starting with the Event Staff (Emily). She was great to work with and made it all happen. The Wait Staff and the Buffalo Room were perfect! The food was amazing! Great location for a Wedding Rehearsal Dinner. Thank you for starting our wedding weekend off with an amazing evening!

We had our company Holiday party here with 90 attendees. It was the first time we have had a celebration like this to include significant others. I was so impressed with how easy the process was with The Rose and how reactive Patricia was in helping pull things together. The space is super cute and the service team were awesome. One of our guests commented on the food stating it was the BEST buffet he had ever had. needless to say, everyone was Very pleased. i would highly recommend The Rose for any corporate celebration or event.

We hosted a "post wedding brunch" on a Monday morning at The Rose, in the Buffalo Room in November, 2023. The woman that was helping us on the day of the event (Heather) was very helpful and sweet to work with. The food was plentiful and delicious! Left-overs were packed up for us to take home and the entire staff was accommodating to our specific requests. My only "less than glowing" comment would be that our event was pretty pricey, in my opinion. Emily did her best to give us the "best bang for our buck" and included some bottles of wine so we could meet the minimum charges, but I still felt this was an expensive brunch. But it turned out just great and everyone had a fine time and complimented our choices of venue and food! I would definitely recommend "The Rose" if your budget allows!

Choosing The Rose for our wedding venue was the best decision EVER. We had our dream wedding thanks to Patricia and The Rose. It was truly the best night of our lives. From the first day we signed the contract, Patricia was amazing, supportive, and very communicative. It took SO much of the stress out of the planning process just knowing we had Patricia’s expertise and support. She is very organized and experienced, and she helped make the day/night run smoothly. Having her as a part of the package when you sign on with The Rose is INVALUABLE!! Patricia alone deserves 5 stars!!! Another huge selling point for us was having things included - the food, drinks, tables, chairs, linens, and flatware come from The Rose, so all you have to worry about coordinating yourself is DJ/band, photographer/videographer, and decor. We kept our decor minimal, so all we had to worry about vendor-wise was DJ and photographer, which made it much less stressful for us than other weddings where the people getting married have to coordinate a million vendors. We also loved the space itself. We kept our decorations pretty minimal to save money and effort and the space still looked gorgeous. The exposed brick and vaulted ceilings are amazing. And when you put candles on the tables/booths, it spruces up the space SO MUCH. We used a wooden arbor as our backdrop on the stage, and while I’ll admit it’s not the prettiest ceremony backdrop ever, it’s worth it to have everything else The Rose offers. (You can also get curtains/more stage decor for the ceremony if you want, we just didn’t want to spend the extra money.) The sound/acoustics in the venue are AMAZING. They host concerts so the stage would be great for a band, but we had a DJ (Ethan from Elite Entertainment), and it was incredible. Our dance floor was lively the whole night and multiple guests said it felt/looked like a club (in a good way, LOL). It was exactly the upbeat/happy/fun party vibe we wanted for the dancing portion of the night. Also, the bartenders were amazing, and the service was VERY fast. We had a 160-person wedding and people never had to wait more than 3 minutes for a drink. We really appreciated the great bar service. We paid the extra $ to have the extra State Room bar upstairs during cocktail hour and dinner, and it was definitely worth it, especially for the size of our wedding. Lastly, we were very happy with the food. SO many of our guests complimented the food during and after the wedding. The plated meals and appetizers were all amazing. I also heard the desserts and late-night foods were very good, but I didn’t try any because I was busy dancing 🙂 Overall, the ambiance and vibe of the venue was immaculate. It’s hard to explain, but the vibes were just soooo gooood and the space was so fun! Also, having our names on the marquee was a fun addition that everyone loved and took photos under. The ONLY "cons" are that it’s not the prettiest backdrop for a ceremony (we got married on the stage) and the lighting can be difficult for photographers so just make sure you communicate with your photographer about the lighting and make sure they are comfortable shooting in a dark space. Our guests still have not stopped raving about how amazing the wedding was, and it was the wedding of our dreams. We’re so glad we chose The Rose and not a venue in the mountains. Most of our guests stayed at either The Golden Hotel, The Table Mountain Inn or airbnbs in Golden, so our guests got to enjoy Golden the whole weekend, which was amazing because most people came from out of town. Cannot recommend this venue enough!!!!!!!!
