December 17, 2018 – Golden, Colorado. The iconic Buffalo Rose, with a heritage dating back prior to Colorado statehood, announces the grand opening of its newly renovated event center for the weekend of Friday, January 25th and Saturday, January 26th, 2019. The new event facility will be open to host the evening programming for the 5th annual UllrGrass Music and Beer Festival held in downtown Golden. Featured UllrGrass acts will include Grammy Award winning Newgrass pioneer Sam Bush Band, Drew Emmitt & the UllrGrass All-Stars, Coral Creek, the New Orleans Suspects and more.
“I’m delighted that the new Buffalo Rose event center will be available in time for UllrGrass 2019,” commented owner Chris Cone. “It’s very fitting that this beloved Colorado music venue will host a Golden music festival on The Rose’s opening weekend.”
The re-opening of the event venue is the first of two phases for bringing The Buffalo Rose fully back on line. The restart of the bar and restaurant operation is slated for spring 2019.
“Returning music lovers will not recognize The Buffalo Rose as the venue has been totally revitalized. We’ve installed brand new sound and light equipment, climate control, floors, doors, windows and much more—it really is an entirely new space set within a beautiful original 1920s-era building,” continued Mr. Cone. “One of the aspects of the new place that I’m most excited about is The State Room, an elevated craft cocktail, beer and wine experience on the mezzanine level of the building overlooking Washington Ave. that is directly connected to the main event venue space.” The State Room is a collaboration between The Buffalo Rose, Golden-based distillery State 38, and AC Golden Brewing Company.
“There has been a significant investment made in The Buffalo Rose and I’m certain that the effort has delivered a world-class event venue right here in downtown Golden. I’m beyond excited to share the new space with artists and visitors from around the world as well as with members of our vibrant Golden community who have been so loyal and supportive of The Buffalo Rose going all the way back to its founding in 1859.”
The Buffalo Rose is located at 1119 Washington Ave. in historic downtown Golden. The Rose has a full slate of live entertainment programming booked starting in January and is available for private event rental.
