Buffalo Rose is thrilled to present a very special evening of Latin Jazz with the Flatirons Jazz Big Band on Thursday, October 15th — a night of rhythm, color, and pure musical magic featuring one of Colorado’s truly great jazz orchestras.

Drawing from the rich tradition of Latin jazz in the Big Band era, the Flatirons Jazz Big Band brings the irresistible sounds of mambo, cha-cha, bossa nova, and Afro-Cuban swing to the Buffalo Rose stage. These are the rhythms that set Havana on fire in the 1950s — the sound of Tito Puente, Pérez Prado, and Dizzy Gillespie — reimagined by one of Colorado’s finest jazz ensembles.

To complete the experience, Buffalo Rose will be featuring special Cuban-inspired food and drink specials throughout the evening — mojitos, Cuban sandwiches, maduros and more — transporting you straight to the streets of Old Havana for one unforgettable night in Golden.

Colorado’s premier big band has been bringing the romance and excitement of the Swing Era to Front Range audiences since 2014. The Flatirons Jazz Orchestra — an 18-piece ensemble featuring one of the finest jazz singers in the country, Deborah Stafford — delivers the authentic sound of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, and the full canon of jazz royalty, from the Birth of Swing to the Modern Era.

Rated “Best Big Band in Denver” by CBS Local and “Best Big Band in Colorado” by American Vernacular Dance, FJO is a fixture at the region’s most celebrated dance and jazz venues, from the Avalon Ballroom and Dazzle Jazz to the Dickens Opera House and the Mercury Café. They’ve headlined the Keystone Wine and Jazz Festival, Boulder JazzFest, the Longmont Jazz Festival, and the Estes Park Big Band Bash.
