Brothers Of The Son
About Us
Brothers Of The Son is six piece band embodies the spirit and emotion of Southern Rock, Colorado Style. What is Southern Rock, Colorado Style? It’s a Western invention. We think it is the mixing of classic Southern Rock attitude with the unbridled ethic of the Colorado music scene as viewed through the eyes of a bunch of Colorado boys (and girl!) that have played together for many years.
We strongly identify with the roots of real Country, Rock and Blues. Influences such as Lynyrd Skynyrd and Allman Brothers drive the twin guitars, keys and a rockin’ rhythm section to set the stage for strong vocals. Interludes of acoustic 12 string and country rock ballads round out a really special band.
Our History
Mike, Bonnie, AL and Todd met in Arvada, Colorado many moons ago and have been enjoying friendship and music ever since.
We are excited to announce that Jamie McGregor, Bobby Bruce McPherson and Mike Lewis have joined the band to form a smokin’ rhythm section. We are fortunate to be able to play with such talented and creative musicians! Special Guest and Friend Mark Simpson is in the house as well.

Asha Blaine
Asha Blaine’s first solo ROCK album titled “ASCENSION” was released June 2020. She is currently working on her 2nd untitled ROCK/METAL album, with 4 songs released as singles. You can find her newest songs on all streaming platforms with her music videos on YouTube.
Asha also runs a full time music performance business, performing every weekend throughout the Denver metro and venturing into Wyoming and Nebraska. She learned to play acoustic guitar during Covid, when bars would not hire full bands due to the pandemic. She wanted to continue playing music so becoming a SOLO performing artist was the only way to keep playing music LIVE, as bars would still allow solo acts. You can find her performance schedule on www.ashablaine.com, her facebook and instagram. Check out her YouTube channel for live performances.
In the fall of 2023, Asha campaigned a crowd fund for a music video for a song she wrote called “Run Away,” where she was able to raise the funds, from fans alone, to create an EPIC music video, directed by Denver’s favorite videographer, Kyle Lamar. This song has become a community favorite!
Asha discovered songwriting in 2019, after a very depressing personal time. She found that writing lyrics, and setting them to melodies, made a lot of sense to express herself, when otherwise, there was no other outlet for that. This became a source of freedom and expression for her, as well as an opportune time to come to know herself as a person, and as an artist. She likes to write about confronting bad internal voices, running away from trauma, and facing life with a fearless attitude.
Musicianship:
Asha’s first professional singing experience was 7 years ago, applying to sing lead female vocals for a favorite Disco band in Denver. Since then, she has explored singing lead for different cover/tribute bands in Denver, mainly focused on 70’s and 80’s rock bands. Her first album highlights a strong influence from the popular 80’s rock/metal music scene, while her in- progress 2nd album is focused on an early 2000’s rock/metal vocal influence.
Asha has also picked up learning the acoustic guitar since 2020 to enhance her song-writing ability and overall musicianship. She likes to keep herself staying active in the Denver music community. She is happy having the freedom to learn new songs, to see what the audience likes, and play the songs she writes to entertain and delight her fans. There is a lot of freedom and benefit in working as a solo musician for her.
Evening Experience:
Asha and her band are happy to be playing original music sharing the stage with “Guild of Ages,” one of Denver’s BELOVED rock bands. Asha will be debuting her single releases from her newest EP, along with NEW merchandise and physical copies of both albums.
Merchandise and Media:
To view all of Asha’s products, merchandise, and physical copies of music, head to www.ashablaine.com to the merch shop! She has T-shirts, Sweatshirts, Beanies and more to add to your collection. All of her merch will be available at her show!
Special Guest : “GUILD OF AGES”
Guild Of Ages roots extend all the way back to 1989. The band was named Caught in the Act and they played every battle of the bands, benefit show or backyard party they could. The band quickly rose among the ranks of the most popular bands on the Denver rock scene. After winning a number of Battle of the Bands competitions, Caught in the Act started gaining attention from agents, management companies and A&R. The early 1990’s brought about a significant change in the music scene away from Hard Rock, Metal and Melodic Rock. Bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam became popular. Caught in the Act seemed to press on, despite the unpopularity of their music and it paid off. The band was noticed by former Axe/Blackfoot vocalist and guitarist Bobby Barth. Barth lived in Los Angeles and brought the band out for a recording session in the summer of 1992. The trip changed the landscape for the band significantly. After a drummer replacement, Caught in the Act sent a number of demo recordings to various record labels in Europe,Japan and the US. The melodic rock scene was still very much alive in Europe and Japan. The Scandinavian record label Empire Records, offered the band a recording and distribution deal in 1993 and Caught in the Act began recording ‘Act 1:Relapse of Reason’. Relapse of Reason was well received in both Europe and Japan. The boys began recording their follow up almost immediately after the release of their first effort, despite turmoil. Two member changes happened after the release of Relapse of Reason, but core members Antz Trujillo (guitar) and Danny Martinez (vocals) remained. Bassist Jim Lostetter and drummer Steve Stuntz joined in 1994, The band recorded and released Heat of Emotion and was subsequently signed to MTM Music in Europe and Toshiba EMI in Japan. The Heat of Emotion Cd received critical acclaim and served as a fantastic follow-up to their first release. The band was in demand and secured their first European tour as an opening act on the Pink Cream 69 – 1997 summer tour. Caught in the Act was sued shortly thereafter by a Scandinavian “Boy Band” with the same name. Despite using the acronym CITA, the band was issued a cease and desist order and forced to change the name after nearly a decade. Guild of Ages was reborn in 1998, toured Europe that year with Axe, released 3 more studio CD’s (One, Vox Dominatas, Citadel) and 1 Live CD(Live Over Germany). The band parted ways in 2002…
In August of 2014, GOA was asked to reunite and play a festival show in Nottingham, England. Firefest: The Final Fling! The band agreed to play the show. The band had a number of ‘warm up’ shows lined up to help get back into the groove known as Guild of Ages. It was evident that the band still had chemistry and sounded as if they had never split. During these warm up gigs, they decided to reunite Guild of Ages not only for Firefest, but for years to come. The band travelled to England knowing that they planned on putting the band back together, but they had no idea the fan base was so strong. Even after all those years.
The band finished recording 12 new tracks in December 2017. A chance inquiry from Khalil Turk of Escape Music LTD happened in early January 2018. Escape Music was interested in reissuing the CITA/Guild of Ages catalogue. Escape also secured a deal to release the long-awaited new Guild of Ages album RISE in spring 2018.

Based in Evergreen, Colorado we have access to an incredible Front Range music scene. We cook up our own tasty jams with beautiful harmonic vocals and talented musicians that hit the essence of covers, but then we add spicy twists and turns as we weave in and out of other songs, including our original music. We often move between Widespread Panic songs or start a Dead song, but end in a Phish or Talking Heads song, or something more obscure. Oh, and then there is our bluegrass influence with songs by GSBG, The Dusters, Leftover, and even Billy Strings. Our female vocalist will impress you with Fleetwood Mac and Paul Simon tunes. Always fun and always looking to engage the audience. Jam+

Providing hope and healing for 25 years
Nearly 400 children are diagnosed with pediatric cancer in Colorado each year. That’s why there are so many amazing camp programs out there that help these brave kids and bring some much-needed joy into their lives. But here’s something really special: Camp Wapiyapi is one of the few camps that not only supports the patients, but also their siblings! We believe that the whole family deserves a chance to heal and find happiness, because a cancer diagnosis affects everyone, not just the patient. We bring patients and siblings together at the same time, giving them an equal summer camp experience, because we know that when the whole family is supported something truly magical happens. Each family member gets the love, care, and fun they deserve, and we see positive changes happen for everyone involved.
Since the very beginning, we have committed to delivering an unmatched summer camp experience. We have always believed that every child affected by pediatric cancer — from patients battling an active diagnosis, to survivors in remission, to siblings affected by the experience — can let go of cancer and just be kids. At Camp Wapiyapi, we have established a legacy and community where they can laugh and play with others who cherish them just as they are.

Please join us for an Intimate Evening of Music with the performance of Colorado’s own “DOTSERO”
To music fans worldwide DOTSERO translates to “A no nonsense thrill ride of energy and excitement” a band full of life, energy and spontaneity that few artists in the genre have been able to match. As much fun to watch as they are to listen to. Colorado’s own DOTSERO band Taking their name from a small mountain town in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, DOTSERO means “Something Unique”. Formed in 1984 the Dotsero Band, brothers Stephen and David Watts set sail on the contemporary jazz circuit with a vengeance. Performing all the major jazz festivals From Ala Carte Ala Park in San Francisco to West Palm Beach’s Sunfest, Red Rocks , JVC Winter Park Jazz Fest, Jazz Trax Catalina Island Jazz Fest and The Cancun Jazz Festival, among many others. Over the years Dotsero founding member David retired from the scene leaving the band solely in the hands of front man, sax man Steve Watts. Maintaining the integrity and standard people have come to expect from the shows, Steve opened up the genre full throttle adding the excitement of vocals, dual keyboards to the already funky sounds on the bass, drums and of course sax & ewi. You can expect to hear original music from their 16 CD releases as well some covers of their favorite artists. Dotsero is an unstoppable band of true musicianship.

Mike Massé (lead vocals, piano, guitar) is a YouTube icon and professional musician with a worldwide fanbase, thanks to his widely viewed YouTube channel (165M views). Massé was a public defender for 13 years before quitting his day job to become a full-time musician. His “epic acoustic classic rock” covers have been praised by many of the original artists (Toto called Mike’s acoustic cover of “Africa” their favorite). DANIELLE NICOLE BAND
Hailing from Kansas City, Missouri, Danielle Nicole has spent her life making music and pleasing fans, domestically and abroad. Her stunning new album, The Love You Bleed on Forty Below Records, comprises twelve heartfelt tracks exploring themes of love, loss and perseverance.
The new album was produced by Tony Braunagel (Taj Mahal, Eric Burdon, Robert Cray) and co-produced by Nicole, with John Porter (B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Bryan Ferry) mixing. The tight knit quartet on the songs features Danielle on bass guitar and vocals; Brandon Miller (electric, acoustic, pedal steel, mandolin, and 12-string guitar), Damon Parker (keyboards); Go-Go Ray (drums), and Stevie Blacke (violin and cello).
Nicole was initially influenced by her parents. She recalls seeing her father playing blues guitar and her mother singing with the group Little Eva. With her two brothers, she became a member of Trampled Under Foot, which found initial popularity in the Midwest. Danielle embarked on her solo career with Wolf Den (2015), which peaked at #2 on the Billboard Blues charts and amassed 7.5 million Spotify streams. Cry No More (2018) followed, the record was nominated for a Grammy in the contemporary blues category and debuted at number one in the Billboard Blues Charts – it also boasts over Spotify streams in excess of 10 million.
Nicole has been inducted into the Kansas City Hall of Fame and has been the recipient of seven Blues Music Awards. She recently did a duet with Dion on the upcoming song “I Aim To Please,” and recorded the opening track in the forthcoming Peter Hutchings film “Which Brings Me To You.”
There has been no shortage of praise; Guitar World stated, “Danielle Nicole has won respect and admiration throughout the American blues scene for her soulful, inventive playing and tireless work ethic.” Blues Music Magazine effused, “Nicole brings it, bakes it, and serves it up blazing on a silver soulrocking platter.” The Kansas City Star declared, “Blues and soul vocalists tend to improve as they age. Bettye LaVette is among the artists who became increasingly believable as she matured. Danielle Nicole appears to be following in her footsteps.” And the legendary Koko Taylor gets right to the point: “That girl gets down to the nitty gritty!”
At the beginning of the The Love You Bleed recording sessions; Danielle Nicole knew this new album would be different from those in the past. “Maybe that’s because over half the songs are about falling in love and not falling through the destruction of it,” she says. The album is full of love, loss, will, determination, and all the other things that go together with love. “Make Love” is about consciously pushing past the pain, choosing love, family, and community in life’s difficult moments. It uplifts the message of love and togetherness in the face of hardship.” “How Did We Get to Goodbye” with its raw and honest lyrics, document a soured love that bears no hero or villain, asking how you get to such a place of disrepair without even knowing it. And Love On My Brain, is a potent hybrid of vintage R&B and driving blues, begins as a flirty feeling inside and turns to an overpowering need and deep desire. Right By Your Side is a vintage soul/R&B ballad about never making the mistake of watching “the one” walk away again.
The Love You Bleed gives Nicole a solid place that music has always provided in dealing with love and loss. “It’s been a difficult relationship listening to music outside of professional reasons since the passing of my brother Kris,” she says. “But just being honest in my writing and direction, I find when I’m the truest to myself, that’s when the magic happens. Not trying to find perfection in it so much, but engulfing myself in every moment and being there with the audience is when fun things can happen inside and out.” Many of those feelings are captured in all the songs on the album.
There is a powerful sense of self in The Love You Bleed, taking the new songs to the place Nicole envisioned they could go. “I want to consciously move forward in the natural evolution of my songwriting and singing,” she says. And as I grow as a person, a woman, a mother.”

Event Details
Over Three decades of Rock and Roll 1990 – 2020
1990 SLAUGHTER hit radio, MTV and the U.S. touring circuit like a tornado- coming seemingly out of nowhere to roll through everything in its path and turn it upside down. Touring the world with bands that they loved, Kiss, Ozzy, and others meant the good times were just a song away, and their first hit single, “Up All Night” certainly fit into that mold, their second chart-topper, “Fly To The Angels” was more representative of the spirituality and awareness that goes into most of the band’s music and lyrics. But never were SLAUGHTER more accurately represented that live onstage in front of their legions of devoted fans over the last ten years.
1991-during this time filmed what became a platinum home video “From the Beginning” depicting the bands rather different and humorous lifestyle. To showcase the live prowess, the band had garnered during their first tour, the band released “Stick It Live” a five song EP collection which entered the billboard charts and went gold as quickly as it was released. This was certainly a shock to the non-believers in the world.
SLAUGHTER was contacted by Orion pictures and Record Producer Jimmy Lovine to write and record what would become the theme song for “Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey” and later made a video that featured clips from the film as well. This CD was also certified gold.
1992 -the band went on to record the “The Wild Life”, its second record after a consistent schedule of touring behind the multi- platinum debut, “Stick It To Ya.” During this time the band was awarded the prestigious American Music Award. The “WildLife” CD entered the billboard charts the first week of release in the top ten at # 8 and was shortly their after certified platinum. The band also filmed what became a second gold home video documenting the making of the “The Wild Life” CD. The band embarked on a tour that would take them through their first challenging obstacle to overcome.
During the Ozzy Osbourne Tour (June 1992), Singer Mark SLAUGHTER was diagnosed with a nodule on his right vocal cord that required surgical attention that was later performed in August 1992. The band would not perform again until Halloween of 1992 on the Dick Clark’s Halloween Special from Universal Studios in Hollywood, CA. The band continued to tour with the Damn Yankees bringing them midway through the 1993 season. After receiving the most media attention for a second CD effort, the band began to make plans to record their next Chrysalis release (Fear No Evil). The next series of challenges was soon to come. The writing of “Fear No Evil” in Las Vegas seemed to start out with a normal timber as all other records thus far. However midway into writing, guitarist Tim Kelly and then tour manager were arrested in Las Vegas by drug enforcement agents for a six plus year old charge involving narcotic trafficking. From this point through completion of the record, it was not known if Tim Kelly would ever tour with the band again. Soon to add gasoline to the fire was the small dirt bike accident within a half mile of Dana Strum’s house in Las Vegas, NV causing multiple broken bones including a left wrist and two fingers on the left hand (the hand he plays bass with). Once again the band was determined to continue on.
1994-The band played its first engagement on new year’s debuting material from the forthcoming CD at the Hurricane in Las Vegas at a meager price of $100 dollars per person (this date was a sellout). “Fear No Evil” was completed in February 1994 with the band touring with Damn Yankees from February on. After flying to New York to debut the album for the record company at the mid-year point, the group soon realized that no one involved in the promoting of their early records was any longer employed by Chrysalis (EMI) records. The band spent four months negotiating their release from the label. Within three months after negotiating the release the band signed a deal with then newcomer CMC International records with a vision of bringing Hard Rock and Metal Music to the people again. SLAUGHTER also made a Pacific Rim record deal with JVC Victor Records of Japan, marking a new world release period for SLAUGHTER.
1995-the band embarked on a tour that would take them around the world. The group also released “Rain On”, a five song import EP featuring SLAUGHTER’s first cover song, Elton John’s “Saturday Nights Alright for Fighting.” The band then embarked on their first tour of Japan. The tour was a long overdue overwhelming success. SLAUGHTER had to perform with Vince Neil guitarist “Dave Marshall”, (Tim Kelly’s long time friend) in Japan due to Tim’s ongoing legal problems. Many seeing the band during these trying times felt as though the group itself was beginning to perform better as a unit ironically. By this time Tim Kelly’s legal problems had ended and the band was now bound and determined to continue its pursuit of good time rock and roll.
1996-the band returned from a year long tour long tour, the band begun to make plans to record “Revolution”, the bands fourth full length 1997 effort and first enhanced CD. With musical climates changing the band embarked on a bit of a psychedelic approach still maintaining a good time spirit with often more challenging songs to be recorded. The record was released with an in store promotion campaign across major cities in America with the band signing copies of its entire catalog to date. SLAUGHTER then embarked on it’s first of what would become many package tours, this time with “Motley Crue” singer Vince Neil who had performed with Tim, Mark and Blas at a Las Vegas charity engagement earlier that year. (Ironically the band had met a talented young sound man/guitarist from Orlando, Florida named Jeff Blando who would later become the fourth member of SLAUGHTER after the tragic passing of Tim Kelly.) The band began to feel an upswing in audience attendance and peoples’ determination to let hard rock live.
1997-the band continued to tour with Alice Cooper, Dokken and Warrant on its second package tour showing even more promise and teaching the band that sticking to their guns was the right thing to do. After playing their last headlining date in Detroit, MI (November 1997) the band returned to their respective homes and planned a new live release to encompass performances of material spanning the years.
1998-“Eternal Live” was the band’s 6th record, and their first full-length live release is SLAUGHTER at its best- live on stage. Recorded in- Mexico in front of more than 20,000 fans and one in their hometown, Las Vegas, “Eternal Live” captures the excitement of a SLAUGHTER performance and showcased 12 songs off their earlier albums. Sadly, this album must also serve as a tribute to original SLAUGHTER guitarist Tim Kelly (1963-1998)-RIP, who was killed in a car accident. “Eternal Live” was Tim’s farewell performance, “explains bassist and producer of all SLAUGHTER albums, Dana Strum.” And I think he’d be pleased that his last recordings were not just in the studio, but were with our fans there too.” Uncertain if the band would continue or tour after Tim’s passing, the only logical replacement was Jeff Blando who was described by late guitarist Tim Kelly as “One Hell of a player.”
The band rehearsed with Jeff Blando during the last week of May 1998 with no other goal in mind than to continue and make this work. The band’s first performance without Tim Kelly was in Salt Lake City in June 1998. The warmth and support of the audience was nothing short of overwhelming. The band several gigs later realized that the fans would rather feel and hear the music than see it fade away. This marked a noted positive change for all of the members, with Blando being received with open arms. Mark SLAUGHTER, “It’s been the love and support of our fans that helped us carry on after Tim died. And we make this solemn promise to them that as long as they are there, so will SLAUGHTER be there.”
The band continued touring on their self-named “Rock Never Stops” Tour playing to as many as 16,000 fans the likes of which SLAUGHTER had not seen in a great many years.
This would become a positive turning point for the group with nothing but promise ahead of them. All of the members reflect that SLAUGHTER has enjoyed plenty of success in their 15-year career. Five songs on their albums were #1 MTV videos. Seven of the songs were in rotation on AOR radio. Like any group who has known the thrill of selling millions of records around the world, filling large arenas and having their faces plastered on magazine covers, the members of SLAUGHTER have felt the pressures of maintaining that success. “Seven years ago, it’s all we could think about,” says Dana, “but then losing Tim and seeing music come and go over the past few years has taught us a lot about the music business and has allowed us to re-evaluate what we’re doing.”
1999-Las Vegas, Nevada – SLAUGHTER had completed their seventh CD to date entitled “Back to Reality.”(CMC/BMG RECORDS) That marked the first joint writing effort involving all four band members and the most challenging recording schedule to date. (With Production of the CD beginning only in March of 1999) During this time the band also filmed for VH-1 “Where Are They Now”.
During the summer of 1999 it was interesting to note that while on the “Rock Never Stops Tour” (which included: TED NUGENT and NIGHT RANGER) SLAUGHTER did more press (including “Forbes” and “Various TV and Radio Shows”, but also had the “#1 Track” on the “VH-1” CD “Power Ballads” with “Fly To The Angles” and “Up All Night” became the “#1 Track” on Rhino Records “Hard Hitters” meaning that SLAUGHTER had Never released more Product in any year of the GROUP’S history.
VH-1 MTV and Major Film Companies have gone to SLAUGHTER requesting that “Songs, Sounds and Images” be included in releases FROM 1991-2008.
2000-SLAUGHTER took part in the hugely successful summer 2000 “Poison, Cinderella, Dokken and SLAUGHTER” tour proving that rock is still alive and well.
2001 SLAUGHTER was a proud part of a TWO MILLION selling CD “Monster Madness” (with – UP ALL NIGHT), the band
was also out touring as a part of the “Voices of Metal” tour featuring Vince Neil of Motley Crue, Ratt, and Vixen
2003 Capital records re-released the first two SLAUGHTER CD’s “Stick it to Ya” and the “Wildlife” featuring 24-bit digital re-mastering, additional photos, bonus tracks and liner notes written by Mark SLAUGHTER and Dana Strum – SLAUGHTER toured May-October with “WHITESNAKE” on the “ROCK NEVER STOPS TOUR”.
2004- SLAUGHTER released a DVD-A entitled “Then and Now” that features 12 songs and 50 rare photos of the band over the years. …SLAUGHTER toured – March – November Headlining Various Venues and playing to larger crowds then in recent years.
2005 – SLAUGHTER & VH-1 TEAM UP WITH “STRIPPED” A CD OF UNPLUGGED JAMS WHICH IS KICKED OFF WITH A SELL-OUT-PERFORMANCE IN HOLLYWOOD, CA—SLAUGHTER – TOURED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AND BROKE NEW GROUND WITH CASINO PERFORMANCES AS WELL AS SRO SHOWS.
2006- SLAUGHTER released a DVD that features live performance footage and band camera footage shot over the years. The band will again be on the road touring doing High Energy Performances that feature all of the SLAUGHTER hits as well as new material. The Vh-1 Stripped DVD hit the retail stores March 15th, 2006 as yet another SLAUGHTER release.
2007- SLAUGHTER was featured on a pacific rim – compilation CD that was Platinum within its first week of release, SLAUGHTER filmed many of its live performance shows for a DVD release in
2008, and performed in front of 38,000 people singing SLAUGHTER songs at the world famed “Rocklahoma Music Fest”, as well as participated in a full Summer tour with Vince Neil of Mötley Crüe. – Of interesting note – SLAUGHTER’s music has been played more in 2007 on radio and the internet then in the 3 previous years combined.
For the past decade SLAUGHTER has continued to tour, performing 40 – 50 shows per year at casinos, fairs, festivals and biker rallies all across the US to record breaking audiences. SLAUGHTERs have furthermore enjoyed successful festival shows in Sweden, Japan, Mexico & Germany.
SLAUGHTER has shown that with perseverance and sheer talent, a band can survive and win over the support of fans, regardless of what others may say about the quality of their music. What’s most important is that their music is still here and the vast majority of critics who panned them in the past are not, and that’s as good as gold.

With Ford’s long awaited return to the scene, also came the long awaited opportunity by the industry to finally recognize Lita Ford for forever changing the roll of women in music.

And in the same year Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the prestigious Guitar Player Certified Legend Award and inducted her in to the Guitar Player Hall of Fame.

William Topley & Band
William Topley’s lyrics are subtle vignettes of life that take in universal themes that are filtered through the lens of late night performances, morning after black coffees and too many cigarettes. They are songs that deliver more with each listening and give you a real sense of the journey and the feelings that affect each and everyone of us. Dire Straits guitar legend Mark Knopfler, says of Topley: “He’s big-hearted, emotional and strictly legit.”
William Topley has developed a dedicated fan base in the U.S. ever since the release of Prince of the Deep Water in 1991, his first album with his band The Blessing. Producer Neil Dorfsman (Sting, Dire Straits) described him as “the most original songwriter I’ve heard for years.” The influences, still recognisable in his music, were already there – The Stones, Van Morrison, the best of soul and southern rock. The album catapulted The Blessing into a world tour, videos in Jamaica, TV stations in Paris and soccer stadiums in Germany with Simply Red and Level 42.
Legendary Rolling Stones Producer Jimmy Miller, who produced The Blessing’s second album Locusts and Wild Honey, was equally enthusiastic. “They’re right up my alley. I haven’t had such a good relationship with a band since Traffic.”
Ever looking for new challenges, Topley decided to go solo for his next albums. Producer Barry Beckett said of Topley: “He’s the best singer I’ve ever heard.” And that’s from a guy who’s worked with Aretha Franklin and Paul Simon.
Topley has worked with guitarist/songwriter Dominic Miller (best known for his work with Sting), and frequently records with his band and plays live with his band (Luke Brighty – guitar, James Eller – bass, Jim Kimberley – drums, Mark Taylor – keyboards, Dorie Jackson – backing vocals).
On the back of his latest album, Aristocrats of the South Seas and annual Bahamas Fan Trip, William Topley and the Black River Band are delivering songs that are dripping with evocative lyrics and memorable musical imagery.

Legendary bassist and Metal Health founding member RUDY SARZO has returned to the band after almost a 20 year absence. As per the wishes of Frankie Banali who passed away in 2020, and the Banali estate QUIET RIOT continues its historic journey in 2022. The lineup is composed of QUIET RIOT guitarist ALEX GROSSI, vocalist JIZZY PEARL and is now joined by Type O Negative drummer JOHNNY KELLY.
QUIET RIOT is a rock & roll phenomenon. Famously described as the first heavy metal band to top the pop chart at #1 on Billboard magazine, the Los Angeles quartet became an overnight sensation thanks to their monster 1983 smash album Metal Health.
The story of QUIET RIOT begins in 1980 when Kevin DuBrow formed a new band under his own name, working with Frankie Banali and a variety of musicians over the next few years before signing with Pasha/CBS Records, reverting back to the QUIET RIOT moniker, and entering the studio with new guitarist Carlos Cavazo and bassist Chuck Wright to start work on a new album. The year was 1982 and, following Randy Rhoads’ well-documented death, former henchman Rudy Sarzo left Ozzy, replacing Chuck Wright who is the bass player on record for both the “Metal Health” and “Don’t Wanna Let You Go” tracks, to complete the lineup and sessions for what would become 1983’s Metal Health. Driven by the irresistible double whammy of the title track’s muscular bass line and a raucous rendition of the old Slade chestnut “Cum on Feel the Noize,” the album stormed up the U.S. charts, duly reaching the number one spot and going platinum five times over in the process at that time. The sales of Metal Health have now exceeded the 10 million mark worldwide to date.
QUIET RIOT returned to the studio to record 1984’s Condition Critical, which went on to sell over 2 million copies in the US and included another chart-ready Slade cover in “Mama Weer All Crazee Now” and the self- penned “Party All Night.” In 1986
QUIET RIOT re-grouped to launch the QR III record, Sarzo had been replaced by former bassist Chuck Wright. Vocalist Paul Shortino stepped in and recorded 1988’s simply named Quiet Riot with Banali, Cavazo, and new bassist Sean McNabb.
In 1991, DuBrow and Cavazo began working together once again, joined by Frankie Banali and eventually recording 1993’s Terrified with bassist Kenny Hillery. Down to the Bone followed two years later with Chuck Wright back on bass, and in 1997, a one-off performance at an after show party hosted by industrial shock rocker Marilyn Manson who had requested to Banali that QUIET RIOT perform, lured bassist Rudy Sarzo back to the fold.
With that lineup once again, QUIET RIOT hit the road playing venues across America, Europe and Asia. This lineup was captured on 1999’s Alive and Well album, and 2001 saw the release of Guilty Pleasures. QUIET RIOT officially parted company with Rudy Sarzo and Carlos Cavazo in October of 2003. In 2004 DuBrow and Banali recruited guitarist Alex Grossi and bassist Chuck Wright and continued to tour nonstop throughout 2006 in America, Europe, South America and Asia. For the recording of Rehab in 2006, DuBrow and Banali entered the studio with bassist Tony Franklin and guitarist Neil Citron, both long time friends of Banali. QUIET RIOT with the lineup of DuBrow, Banali, Wright and Grossi continued to perform live worldwide until November of 2007 when sadly, Kevin DuBrow’s singing career was cut short with his passing on November 25, 2007.
After nearly three years since the loss of his friend and bandmate Kevin DuBrow, and with careful consideration, soul searching and with the blessings and support of Kevin DuBrow’s family, Frankie Banali decided to continue his journey and the musical legacy of QUIET RIOT along with bassist Chuck Wright, guitarist Alex Grossi and vocalist Jizzy Pearl and continued to play live as much as he could through his courageous cancer battle up until December of 2019. He chose Johnny Kelly to sub for him on dates he could not play and Mr. Kelly has now taken the reins behind the drums going forward as per Frankie’s wishes. The band is excited to welcome RUDY SARZO back into the band and are looking forward to touring and recording into 2022 and beyond.
